Backpack Drive – August 2014

Millions of children throughout the United States rely on food support from the National School Lunch Program. But once the bell rings and the children head home, often they go without until their next meal at school.

The Leander Independent School District Back Pack Program gives eligible children a backpack full of food to take home every Friday so that they will be able to eat over the weekend.

This program is completely run by volunteers and entirely off of donations and contributions.
