Here are some activities going on this weekend for families (some are for those with special needs and other are for everyone)
“Boo at the Zoo”: Austin Zoo’s annual fall fundraiser benefiting their rescued animals. Activities include a haunted train ride, walking through a haunted house and spooky lights throughout the zoo. Admission is $12.50 per person and includes at train ticket. Austin Zoo Website
Bethany Lutheran Pumpkin Patch: Choose from an inventory of over 2000 various sizes of pumpkins for purchase. On the weekends kids can enjoy storybook readers, children activities, cookbook, and great picture opportunities. FREE (plus cost of pumpkins). (3701 W. Slaughter Ln)
Pioneer Farms Haunted Trails: October 18 & 19 and October 25 & 26, 7-10 p.m., Pioneer Farms. Experience Halloween like nowhere else in Texas! A must-see history show for all ages. This is an Austin tradition with new displays and thrills! Admission is $12 a person. Reservations are not necessary. Hayrides and fortune telling booths available for extra fee. Food and drinks will be on sale in the Spook Town entrance village. (10621 Pioneer Farms Drive)
Town Lake YMCA Fall Harvest Festival: Saturday, October 19, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Bring the family for raffles, trick or treating, Tiny Tails Petting Zoo, dogs in costume from Austin Pets Alive, face painting, inflatables, pumpkin decorating, treats from Thunderbird Energetica and fun for the whole family. Also learn about the Y’s upcoming garden mosaic classes and volunteering at the Y. The Y will be honoring the Community Gardens sponsor, Kevin Williamson of Ranch 616. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume. (1100 W. Cesar Chavez)
Fall Fun at RedBarn Garden Center: Saturday, October 19, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Red Barn Garden Center. This free event will feature a moon bounce and a petting zoo, and pumpkins of all sizes available for purchase. FREE. (12881 Pond Springs Rd)
Run For All Festival and 5K: Saturday, October 19, 5:30 – 10 p.m., Texas School for the Deaf. Come down to the Run For All Festival, featuring the city’s only Halloween-themed evening 5K, and an Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow screening of the movie Beetlejuice. Come in costume! Runners and walkers of all ages welcome. Registration for the 5K is $30 and includes all festival events. Spectator tickets are $10. (1102 S. Congress Ave)
